ED501 - Getting Started as an Information Technology Instructor

This course is designed for new career and technical education (CTE) teachers in the field of information technology (IT). The course provides knowledge and practical tools to enable teachers to deliver informative and engaging instruction. Through four key modules-Understanding CTE, Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning, Communication and Assessment, and Developing a High-Quality Program, participants will explore core topic such as Perkins V, writing learning objectives, aligning lessons to industry standards, managing equipment and safety, using formative assessment, and connecting students to work-based learning and dual enrollment opportunities. Participants will also reflect on their own teaching practices and build a network of support as they begin their journey as CTE educators.
